Poor structural quality and poor resolution

After only a couple years of use the back of the dryer drum fractured and broke apart. This is not a wear and tear issue, this is structural design. Replacement drum was ordered but packed so poorly that it arrived damaged, it also appeared to be a used/refurbished part. I™€™m nearly a month without the ability to do laundry. Also, nobody can give me a quote for service/repair costs and all I™€™ve been told is ™€œit™€™s up to the technician.™€ How am I supposed to plan or budget for that? I provided photos of the damage and nobody can tell me how much the cost to fix it is? That is poor.

Terrible GE design

Absolutely worst design ever. Has space between drum and body where EVERY possible draw string on pants or sweatshirts get caught. Rips out strings. Lint bypasses tray and goes down into a reservoir of sorts, required to purchase vacuum tube attachment to clean lint from said reservoir.

Had this dryer for about 3 years and it stopped heating, I have great ventilation amd clean the vent after every load. I do about three loads a week. Checked the circuit breakers and turned on and off but still no heat. Would not recommend this dryer nor the matching washing machine because of the balance issue. Very disappointed.

Multiple issues & now completely dead after 2 yrs

This is the most problematic set of a washer and dryer I™€™ve ever dealt with!!!! Only had them about 2 years and the dryer has been repaired several times and is now completely dead- receiving no power at all with the least amount of info possible on how to determine the cause and solution. Not to mention the matching washer has been draining bleach onto the floor when poured into the bleach spout so I haven™€™t been able to use that all year either. The stupid thing alwaysssss gets off balance no matter how you situate your laundry, therefor using its ™€œfancy™€ drain and spin to attempt (and fail) to balance out the laundry, in which case it™€™s just wasting more and more of my water. The warranty on this set is absolute TRASH considering the amount of problems I™€™ve had in such a short amount of time. I will never purchase another GE appliance and regret ever spending my money on this cheaply made, disastrous, money-pit of a set.

It worked well enough for 2 years

After 2 years it stopped heating. Prior to that, it worked properly on "Jeans" and "Towels" in terms of actually getting things dry. Other settings, even manual sensor dry, left items slightly damp. After about a year the drum started squeaking but it still turns fine. But now it needs repair because it doesn't heat.

I am very disappointed and quite frustrated that this dryer stopped working last night and I bought it brand new back in May 2021! A $1k dryer with all the smart features shouldn™€™t break down in less than 2 years! I been loyal to Samsung and when it broke after 6 years I wanted to try out GE and now I wish I never did! The dryer turns on and when I got the start button it flashes and the dryer doesn™€™t start. Tried to unplug and nothing works! After readying all these horrible and nightmare reviews just now I wished I did it prior to my purchase! Unless GE can fix or replace this dryer I would never purchase any GE appliance ever again!

3 Years Old and Stopped Working

This dryer has stopped heating. It will tumble but no heat. It is only 3 years old. Our last dryer was still working when we replaced it with this. It was 18 years old. Very disappointing. Also the matching GE washer we purchased at the same time as this dryer is already rusting near the detergent loading area.

Junk ! Junk ! Junk ! Broken in less than 2 years. Replaced coils, switches, and now wont turn on ! Every 3 months this piece of crap has to be worked on. Called customer service and was offered a tech to come out at MY cost to deam it "unrepairable" then they could offer me a discount on new. No thank you ! The matching washer is the same piece of junk. Wont drain or spin out the clothing 9 our of 10 times. Tried little and lots of clothing. Constantly having to "drain and spin". Never again will I purchase a GE product. Both are LEMONS !

Broken in less than 2 years™€¦

The diffuser bolted to the back of the dryer completely ripped off after less than two years of use. It certainly seems like the materials used are not built to last. After speaking with support, I was told that they would offer to pay 50% of the cost for parts and none of the labor. I have always liked GE products, but this experience will make me think twice about purchasing any of their products again.

Worst purchase ever

This is literally the worst washer/dryer I have ever had. Half of the time the washer doesn™€™t properly drain so clothes are soaked and you need to drain and rinse 10 times before it is dry enough to put into dryer. The dryer heating function has gone out aTWICE ALREADY. I literally hate this product.

My dream has always been to afford my own washer and dryer. I™€™m from LI NY and always had to go to laundry mats. I bought this washer and dryer combo and it does not disappoint. I love that they are smart machines and how HUGE they are. Literally laundry mat type machines in my house at such a reasonable rate. Brought this dryer two years ago. It was utilized sparingly, estimated three times per week. The dryer would turn on but stop heating. Read reviews and saw similar posts. The technician stated faulty wire had melted. Very costly to repair as out of warranty and no discounts for diagnosis, labor, and parts are all billed separately. I think quality workmanship should be used for an item that costs this much.

I absolutely love my new G.E steam dryer. It is simple to use yet has so many great features. Clothes come out dry and unwrinkled each cycle. I love that it has wifi and an app to monitor and notify when the cycle is complete. If you want to run the dryer for another 10 minutes, the app communicates with the dryer and restarts it. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I got the set. The washer is pretty nice but the dryer! The dryer is not only huge, tub ease, but I have never had a dryer get rid of so much pet hair. I washed a few throw blankets and the lint trap was full of pet hair afterwards. Thank you GE!

Only gave 4 stars because i.bought it specifically because I like to fill my washer with water n then put detergent in the water before putting the clothes in so that way the detergent is evenly distributed throughout the load. Everything else is great! Got set on sale for $740 a piece. I am 5ft 1in, so if you are short you may need a little step stool to get the clothes out. Read up on some tips n watch a few short videos. You think you know how to do laundry but there is so much to it!

The machine itself seems a little bit flimsy. Door is difficult to open/close and it doesn't swing open all the way so it's kind of awkward to get clothes in and out. Seems to take quite a while to dry as well, but maybe it's just our learning curve on the settings. It's definitely not as nice as the one it replaced. Unfortunately we couldn't find any models of the other brand in stock until February 2022.

Our dryer was delivered today. The delivery team installed the electrical and vent and placed the dryer next to our washer. Total disappointment when we tried to dry our first load. The dryer would operate for 15 0r 20 seconds and stop. We repeated this several more times with the same outcome.
