We have had the dryer for 6 years We had it serviced shortly after the extended warranty period expired A wire had burned up going to the motor (in which I was told GE was aware of this happening frequently and never made it into a recall) Almost a year later the same issue happened again only worse The wire burnt so bad the repair man did not feel comfortable replacing just the wire but the motor also The repair cost is almost as expensive as a new dryer I looked on the GE website and see this model is no longer available I wonder why????? So I am now shopping for a new dryer and a different brand dryer

Bought the dryer 5 years ago. Broke down 6 times, which resulted in multiple visits to the home attempting repair. The heating element burns out because of the way it was built (short wire). Our repair man said GE sent a statement about the faulty wiring, but never recalled the product. So, in other words, GE knows there is an issue, but refuses to fix it.

Only after a few months the dryer light inside started flickering, then the whole dryer got where it would only turn on half the time. You never knew when it was going to work and when it wasn't. Then one day it had no heat, called on warranty with no return calls, then when I called again, they told me they had already came out and repaired, well that was not true. No one ever came out. Husband looked online and it appeared a lot of people had the same problem so he fixed with the help of someone online. Then it got where it was only working about a quarter of the time you would try to use it. Got tired of it (only used for about 3 years) and went and bought the cheapest dryer we could find..unfortunately it was another GE and the light inside stopped working a few weeks in.

Biggest piece of junk dryer I've ever owned, so is the washer I bought at the same time. Never buying GE again. This dryer broke within the first year of owning it, luckily it was under warranty and replaced. Fast forward to 2 years of having the replacement and the replacement is making noises lile the drum is loose/slipping. For reference we only do 1-3 loads of laundry a week. What a joke.

pretty nice dryer ... still it went more up. I went to start a load, pressed the button, heard a little noise, and the thing went dead. The breaker was not tripped. I flipped it off to let the unit "cool down" for a few minutes. That made no difference. The owners manual doesn't give any clue. Makes no mention of any internal breakers/fuses. Usually a fan of GE but this dryer is so clunky. Very noisy especially the stream refresh. You have to nearly slam the door to get it to close. Open it during a cycle and the drum kept going and didn™™t shut down for nearly 30 seconds. Crazy. Not their best product. The dryer sensor is off I believe because sometimes not all is dried. Should of bought a different one.

Dryer failed and heat no longer works. I am trying to find out if its repairable and contacted warranty department since this is the second failure I have had with this machine. Warranty department said they have no record of my machine even though I have the confirmation email from when I registered this machine as well as 5 other appliances I bought at the same time. All went well except: 1)there was no strain relief fitting for the power cord, 2)the exhaust outlet was a little big for the factory elbow that I had to put on it, 3)there is a piece of metal fastened with one screw on the top backside that has ???? use. Not in the manual what to do with it.4) the Y fitting for the water supply does not have valves. Went to hardware store and got a Y fitting with valves so that either can be shut off. Other than those four things and it being a bit noisy, it's doing good so far.

I love this dryer! It's huge so it holds everything (thunk comforter plus sheets). It has so many cycles to pick from. I have it hooked up to my wifi and it alerts me when my clothes are dry! It also shows me how many loads I've done in the last day/week/etc! It's very tall too, no need for a pedestal, it's wonderful! I love everything about this dryer!
